WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL! IT's been a very busy first week of school and extremely fun getting to know your child. I am looking forward to a very fulfilling school year. ELA UPDATES: Last week in review: The students learned about the importance of having a positive digital footprint and to use technology in a responsible, respectful and positive way. The students created this Be your Best Digital Self poster/puzzle during class. JOB WELL DONE! We're off and reading. We had our first visit to the library where the students selected some wonderful books to read during our quiet reading time. The students will be keeping a log of the wonderful books they are reading and will be giving book commercials during the week so others may enjoy the same book. Reading Olympic forms can be found on line - Reading Olympics is a wonderful/fun way to get your child motivated to read. The competition is a fun-filled evening filled with excitement and lots of enthusiasm.

January/February 5th grade fun!

                 I am  discovering many great TALENTS in the 5th grade as our school year                                                      quickly moves  on.                      The students have been engaged in many fun and educational activities. RELIGION UPDATE: We have completed our instruction on the sacrament of Confirmation and have moved on to Holy Eucharist. We did research on the famous painting by DiVinnci and the students created their own masterpieces. We will soon be entering the liturgical season of Lent. During this time we will focus on the events that lead up to Easter. The students will be keeping a prayer journal to help them develop their relationship with Jesus. Writing fun: We have learned prepositions and prefixes, written songs and poetry. This is learning at its best! We are in the process of completing a fun writing assignment using direct quotations.
